Job Description:

A company is looking for a Social and Environmental Standards Technical Specialist for the Africa Region (Home-Based).
Key Responsibilities

Provide oversight and advisory support for the implementation of Social and Environmental Standards (SES) in Country Offices
Develop and deliver training programs and guidance materials to enhance SES capacities among UNDP staff and partners
Coordinate with partners and advocate for the importance of SES within UNDP operations

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

Advanced university degree in relevant fields such as Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources Management, or Development Studies
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in environmental and social safeguards/standards
Demonstrated experience in social and environmental assessments and related risk management plans
Fluency in written and spoken English; knowledge of French and/or Portuguese is an advantage
Must reside in an Africa-compatible timezone at the time of contract signature
