Project Manager - Complex Cross-Departmental Projects
Lead complex cross-departmental projects, manage scope, risk,
business value, schedule, and budget, and build high-performing
teams to drive enterprise-wide goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently lead cross-departmental project assignments,
managing scope, risk, business value, schedule, and
budget.
- Build and motivate project teams, influencing team members to
take positive action and accountability for their work.
- Define project objectives, develop project plans, and allocate
resources to achieve project goals.
- Analyze problems, assess solutions, and develop recommended
approaches.
- Conduct analysis to identify business and system problems, and
develop solutions to achieve project objectives.
- Develop, maintain, and revise project deliverables, and gather
and deliver metrics as required.
- Develop presentations and communications that incorporate
corporate communications theory and practice.
- Identify alternative options for new policies and processes,
and act as subject matter experts to build out new processes and
systems.
- Manage project risk through the development, maintenance, and
revision of reports and tracking tools.
- Understand key business drivers and adapt to internal
procedures and forms to ensure client satisfaction.
- Effectively interact, negotiate, and influence project teams
and business partners to provide acceptable solutions and
results.
- Manage resources and vendors assigned to projects, verifying
progress and removing obstacles.
- Gather and deliver day-to-day progress of projects to support
project management decisions and compliance with company-approved
methodology.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, or related
field, or significant work experience beyond the minimum
required.
- Minimum 7 years of multifaceted experience and knowledge in
processes and project management, including analysis and
documentation.
- PMP or other PMI certification desirable.
- Experience with project methodology through project life cycle
phases in an operations environment, including customer excellence
process improvements, technology innovation, and
transformation.
- Ability to work with general direction to scope, plan, and
manage cross-department or multi-department projects.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large and highly
complex assignments with enterprise-wide impact.
- Ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks
simultaneously, work under pressure, and meet tight
deadlines.
- Team player with written and oral communications skills, and
ability to build rapport within the company, field, and/or outside
vendors.
- High degree of personal initiative and motivation.
Compensation Range
Pay Range - Start: $90,930.00
Pay Range - End: $168,870.00
Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure,
and placement in the salary range will be determined by a number of
factors, including skills, education, training, credentials, and
experience.
