for you.Job Summary:La Rabida is currently recruiting for a
full-time Senior Accountant to join our Finance department in
Chicago, IL. The Senior Accountant of hospital Operations will be
responsible for preparing monthly journal entries, reconciling
accounts, documenting business transactions, and maintaining a
sound internal control structure for hospital operations.In
addition, this role will be responsible for supporting internal and
external audit activities. The Senior Accountant will also be a key
business partner to the operations they support, providing relevant
and timely information related to financial results. The Senior
Accountant is expected to partner with other members of the finance
team to support budgeting, financial analysis, and ad hoc report
requests.Essential Senior Accountant Functions:
- Prepares journal entries and other source inputs into the
general ledger in compliance with internal closing schedules, GAAP,
and internal policies. Reconciles general ledger inputs and
balances.
- Perform month-end close responsibilities.
- Prepares monthly account analysis and reconciliations in a
timely manner to ensure high-quality financial statements;
responsible for reconciliation remediation and ongoing transaction
quality including explanation of key monthly variances for actual
and budget.
- Provides monthly financial reporting and analysis to
operational leaders and Sr. management providing clear and concise
information on financial performance.
- Support internal, external, and other regulatory audit
activities including preparation of the audit work papers, account
reconciliation, and preparation of audited financial
statements.
- Recommend changes and improvements to monthly close process and
accounting processes to increase efficiency accuracy and
reliability of financial statement reporting including the
expansion and use of our ERP.
- Provides mentorship and support to junior staff to grow and
develop.
- Performs special projects and tasks assigned by management to
support the growth of the department.
- Function as the backup to the Accounts Payable Specialist for
vendor payments and Fixed Assets Accounting.This position

assigned.What we need from you:Education: Bachelor's degree in
accountingRelated Work Experience: 5 years of accounting work
experience required, preferably in healthcare.Specialized Knowledge
and Skills: Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting
principles and concepts including Revenue, Prepaids, Accruals,
Inventory, etc. Familiarity with relevant regulations and
compliance requirements. Proficiency in financial analysis,
reporting tools, and use of Excel and other analytical tools.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work
independently and as a team to solve problems, raise issues, and
drive continuous improvement. Attention to detail and ability to
work accurately under tight deadlines. Effective communication and
interpersonal skills. Advanced computer skills required including
knowledge and proficiency with spreadsheet and database programs.
Strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills; able to take
complex information and present it clearly and concisely. Excellent
written and oral communication skills are essential. Must be able
to articulate issues in a precise, substantive manner. Ability to
understand the interrelationships between the Finance department
systems and other department systems. Demonstrates a high degree of
flexibility and resourcefulness in the performance of work
responsibilities and assignments. Knowledge in the processing of
accounting transactions, reports, and reconciliations. Knowledge of
financial systems and sub-systems and ability to trace general
ledger transactions through to sub-systems to ensure accurate and
appropriate system-generated activity. Must function cooperatively
as part of the finance team and exhibit flexibility in response to
changing demands and priorities. Advanced level MS Office skills
include Excel and Word, and Knowledge of Accounting software within
an accounting function.Compensation Information:Pay Range:
